East Street, Barking

October 2005

London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has granted planning consent for the proposed development of 34-42 East Street, Barking. The design provides 13 new residential units above an existing building in the heart of Barking's town centre.

Situated adjacent to a conservation area, the design strives to complement the existing building. Amenity space is provided with inset balconies that provide south-facing terraces without compromising privacy on the tight urban site. 10% of the energy used by the development will be provided from solar heating panels and three wind turbines situated on the roof.
