Railway arches, London Bridge

Railway arches are vast under-developed structures that disrupt their adjacent hinterland. This design seeks to utilise these arches to create a vibrant and attractive resource.

The concept takes inspiration from the Japanese capsule hotel; providing low-cost accommodation for young tourists and business travelers looking for short-stay accommodation in the heart of the city. Each modular room provides sufficient space for a single person whilst  WC and shower facilities are shared to reduce space requirements. The facilities are combined with a sustainable transport hub and  hot-desking facilities to create a genuine focal point for regeneration.
