This refurbishment project provides office space for 50 employees in a basement space on London's South Bank. Whilst it benefits from high ceilings, use of the space is currently constrained by the lack of natural light. The design takes its cue from the limited availability of light. Careful planning of the space ensures that optimum use is made of the available light. Particular consideration has been given to the ceiling, the form of which has been manipulated to reflect and combine artificial and natural light, and a sculptural light reflector designed to provide a visually engaging element in the absence of a 'view' and to reflect natural light deep into the plan. |
