West London Islamic Centre

The West London Islamic Centre currently occupies a poorly adapted industiral building in Ealing.

This design provides a mosque together with a resource centre, classrooms, a shop and function rooms. The building is arranged in three separate volumes behind an aluminium screen lasercut with traditional islamic patterns. This screen provides a buffer between the bustling life of West London and the calm environment of the Islamic Centre. The interstitial spaces between the buildings and the screen provide courtyards and gardens perfect for contemplation or for additional prayer space during busy periods.
